A Glimpse into Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s New Short Film

While functioning as the chief legal officer and assistant superintendent for operations for Niles Township High School District 219 outside of Chicago in Northern Cook County, John Heintz designed and implemented a consistent and an objective hiring process across the district resulting in higher quality staff members. When not dispatching his professional obligations, John Heintz enjoys cycling, playing basketball, and watching movies, especially those produced by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.

A Mexican film director, Mr. Inarritu has produced six major motion pictures, including Babel (2006), Birdman (2014), and The Revenant (2015), which have gained critical acclaim. With 16 production credits, he is the first Mexican citizen to have received a Best Director Academy Award nomination.

In 2017, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu produced Carne y Arena (Flesh and Sand), a seven-minute short that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Based on true stories, Flesh and Sand gives the audience a glimpse into some of the personal journeys of refugees. One reviewer on Rotten Tomatoes said that the short film is a pioneering installation giving a glimpse into the future.
